Part A - Using this website
The information on this website describes the Kairoo service in general. We keep it accurate and up to date, but features and prices may change. The terms that apply to your subscription are those in Part B at the time you subscribe, together with any written changes we notify you of.
The Kairoo name, logo, website text, screenshots and software belong to Kairoo. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission.
Links to other websites (such as payment providers) are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.
Screenshots show the Demo Rentals sample company. The names, bookings and amounts in them are examples.
We may decline any walkthrough or demo request, enquiry or sign-up, at our discretion and without giving a reason.
Part B - 1. The service
Kairoo is online software that lets a rental company publish an enquiry link, give its clients priced quotes, manage bookings, send payment links and see reports. The rental company sets up its own vehicles, prices, insurance options, fees, deposit rules and terms.
Kairoo is a tool for the rental company. The rental agreement is always between the rental company and its client. Kairoo is not a party to it and is not responsible for the company's prices, insurance cover, terms, vehicles or refunds to its clients.
2. Your account and staff
The person who opens the account is the company's owner on Kairoo. The owner may invite as many staff members as the company needs and decides what each one can see and change. The company is responsible for everything done through its account and for keeping sign-in details private.
3. Levels and prices
The price depends on the number of vehicles the company rents out, as shown on the Pricing page. A vehicle is each unit that can be rented out. Every feature is included on every level.
When the number of vehicles passes the limit of a level, the company moves to the matching level from its next billing period, up or down. Prices are in South African rand. Kairoo is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. If that changes, we will give 30 days' notice.
We may change our prices with at least 30 days' written notice. A change never applies to a period that has already been paid for.
4. Payment
Subscriptions are paid in advance, monthly or yearly. A yearly subscription costs the same as 10 months and covers 12. Kairoo never takes commission on the company's bookings.
Payments that the company's clients make go directly into the company's own payment account (for example Paystack). The payment provider's own fees and terms apply to those payments.
5. 30-day money-back
If Kairoo is not right for the company, we refund the first subscription payment in full when the company asks within 30 days of that payment.
6. Cancelling
- Monthly plans may be cancelled at any time. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for, and nothing further is charged.
- Yearly plans run until the end of the year that has been paid for. Apart from the 30-day money-back, unused months are not refunded.
To cancel, email hello@kairoo.co.za from the owner's email address.
7. Set-up service
Setting up Kairoo yourself is free. If the company asks us to do the set-up, the once-off fee is shown on the Pricing page. It is payable before the work starts and is not refundable once the set-up has been completed.
8. Your data
The company owns its information and its clients' information. Kairoo stores and processes it only to provide the service, as explained in our Privacy Policy. The company is responsible for asking its clients for any consent the law requires, and for its own terms with its clients.
The company may ask for an export of its bookings at any time. After the account closes, the information is kept for 90 days so it can be exported, and then deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
9. Fair use
The company may not use Kairoo for anything unlawful, to send unsolicited messages, or in a way that harms the service or other users. We may suspend an account that does so, after warning the company where possible.
10. Availability and support
We work to keep Kairoo available at all times, but cannot guarantee that it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems with our service providers. We will try to give notice of planned maintenance. Support is given by email, phone and WhatsApp during working hours.
11. Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, Kairoo is not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost bookings, and our total liability is limited to the subscription fees the company paid in the three months before the claim arose.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give customers at least 30 days' notice by email of any change that affects them. If the company does not agree, it may cancel before the change takes effect.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. Nothing in them takes away any right that the company has under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, where those apply.
